We are northerners, ecologists and conservationists.  We are also small-scale farmers, fishermen, and wild harvesters.

We seek to build ecological and community capital and to connect and empower individuals, communities and social impact organizations.

We invest in natural climate solutions - including regenerative agriculture and mariculture - that build healthy soils and foster healthy waters while producing healthy food.

We invest in restoring degraded lands, protecting wild intact ecosystems and fostering ecological resilience.

We believe the future is not written; it’s ours to create.

We could, you know.  We could live any way we want.” - Annie Dillard

Carbon Drawdown

To reach a future climate that is livable, we must reduce the amount of greenhouse gases we put into the air AND we must remove the greenhouse gases that are already in our air. We need to do both. powerful carbon drawdown strategies that harness the power of nature and broadly benefit society exist today.

Regenerative Agriculture

Regenerative farming, including silvopasture, is a way to produce highly nutritious food by building and harnessing the power of biologically rich, healthy soil.

Seaweed & shellfish farming

Northern waters are typically cold, clean, and rich in oxygen and nutrients. The vast protected bays and coves across the North provide abundant opportunities for shellfish and seaweed farming which can be part of a climate solution, consuming CO2 and reducing acidification in surrounding waters.

Food Systems

The climate of the North is changing more rapidly than most of the rest of the world. As these changes occur we are challenged to be creative and adapt how our food is produced, processed, preserved, and used.
